| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Raymond G. "Ray" Culley of Silvis, who | 4 | | passed away on November 9, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ray Culley was born to Fred G. and Odetta F. | 6 | | (Hibbs) Culley in Hampton on September 3, 1938; he served in | 7 | | the U.S. Navy;
he married Nadine S. Snyder at the First | 8 | | Methodist Church in East Moline on September 27, 1959; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ray Culley worked as a photographer for the Rock | 10 | | Island Arsenal for over 30 years; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ray Culley was a founding member of Faith Walk | 12 | | World Outreach Center, where he volunteered in every capacity; | 13 | | he taught Children's Ministry for 35 years; he started and | 14 | | worked the Tuesday free meals program Spirit, Soul & Body | 15 | | Outreach for 17 years; most recently, he was a coordinator of | 16 | | The Oasis in East Moline; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Ray Culley was a loving father, grandfather, and | 18 | | great-grandfather; he was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ray Culley was preceded in death by his wife; his | 20 | | parents; and his brother, Richard; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Ray Culley is survived by his children, Pastors | 2 | | Scott (Tonya) Culley and Joni (Kirk) Severs; his | 3 | | grandchildren, Pastors Rachel (C.J.) Hoffman, Josh (April) | 4 | | Severs, Heather Culley, Hannah (Nick) Brown, Megan (Brad) | 5 | | Whitcomb, Daniel Severs, and Andrew Severs; his | 6 | | great-grandchildren, Melodie Hoffman, Josiah Hoffman, Isabelle | 7 | | Hoffman, Esther Hoffman, Finnley Severs, and Anika Severs; his | 8 | | special granddaughter, Emmy Brandau; his sister, Barbara | 9 | | Stark; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Culley; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 12 | | Raymond G. "Ray" Culley and extend our sincere
condolences to | 13 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 14 | | further
