| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of John E. Wangelin of Milan, who passed | 4 | | away on September 1, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Wangelin was born to Hugh and Mary (Tindall) | 6 | | Wangelin in Rock Island on December 1, 1933; he graduated from | 7 | | Sherrard High School in 1951; he served in the U.S. Army; he | 8 | | married Norma Albertson on August 24, 1957; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, John Wangelin retired from Alcoa, where he served | 10 | | as a lab technician for many years; he was also a lifelong | 11 | | farmer and enjoyed every minute he spent outside in the | 12 | | fields; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, John Wangelin enjoyed restoring antique tractors, | 14 | | cars, and trucks; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, John Wangelin was quick-witted, humorous, and | 16 | | extremely hard working; he loved his family beyond measure; | 17 | | and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, John Wangelin was preceded in death by his | 19 | | parents; his sister, Beverly (William H. Jr.) King; and his | 20 | | son, Benjamin Wangelin; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, John Wangelin is survived by his wife of 65 | 2 | | years, Norma Wangelin; his daughters, Carolyn (Mark) Minteer | 3 | | and Elizabeth (Lenny) Lipe; his grandchildren, Johnathan | 4 | | (Alysia) Wangelin, Matt (Holly) Wangelin, Ronnie (Dorothy) | 5 | | Minteer, Emilie (Michael) Lawrence, Jessica (Garrett) Lipe, | 6 | | and Logan (Josie) Lipe; his great-grandchildren, Libby, Luke, | 7 | | Gavin, and Noely; and his nephew, Bob (Karen) King; therefore, | 8 | | be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | John E. Wangelin and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
