| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Donald "Don" L. Tanner of Rapids City, | 4 | | who passed away on February 10, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Don Tanner was born to Donald E. and Maxine | 6 | | (Francis) Tanner in Hillsdale on November 24, 1935; he served | 7 | | his country honorably in the U.S. Army; he married Elaine | 8 | | Miller Baker on November 19, 1971; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Don Tanner first worked at GE in Morrison and | 10 | | then went to work in the stock room at Ametek in East Moline | 11 | | for 11 years; he then spent the next several years working with | 12 | | his brother Robert, running the Phillips 66 Station in | 13 | | Cordova; he spent the last 20 years of his working career as a | 14 | | security guard for Illini Hospital; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Don Tanner enjoyed playing and coaching softball; | 16 | | he liked going camping, especially at Sunset Lakes, and he | 17 | | loved family vacations; he was proud of his yard and enjoyed | 18 | | working in it; most importantly, he enjoyed time spent with | 19 | | his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Don Tanner was preceded in death by his parents; | 21 | | his stepmother, Eileen Tanner; his brothers, Robert and Jerry |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Don Tanner is survived by his wife, Elaine; his | 3 | | children, Deanna (Scott) Nickel, Cheryl Sisul, and Craig | 4 | | Tanner; his grandchildren, Hope Tanner, Shane Hansen, Casey | 5 | | Sisul, Brenden Tanner, and Skylar Schulz; his | 6 | | great-grandchildren, Roman and Rylee Land; his brothers, Paul | 7 | | (Ronda) Tanner and Terry (Lisa) Tanner; his stepsisters, Sandi | 8 | | Henyan and Linda (Skip) Dillin; and his sisters-in-law, | 9 | | Frances and Judy Tanner; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Donald "Don" L. Tanner and extend our sincere condolences to | 13 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
