| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of James Henry "Jim" Hendricks of Virden, | 4 | | who passed away on November 11, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks was born in Chicago to Joseph H. | 6 | | and Elinor C. (Heuser) Hendricks on November 10, 1937; he | 7 | | graduated from Virden High School in 1955 and from Southern | 8 | | Illinois University Carbondale in 1959; he married Margaret | 9 | | Eleanor DeLassus in 1960; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks was deeply involved in the Virden | 11 | | community since taking over his family business, Hendricks | 12 | | Home Furnishings in Virden, in 1962; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks had a love of business, his family, | 14 | | and getting to know community members and customers from all | 15 | | over Central Illinois; during his lifetime, he was a member of | 16 | | the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish in Virden and served | 17 | | on the Virden Chamber of Commerce, the First National Bank | 18 | | Board, the Virden Cemetery Board, and the Virden School Board; | 19 | | he was interested in current events, politics, fishing, and | 20 | | gardening and held a deep love for his country; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks was preceded in death by his |

| 1 | | parents and his brother, Joe Hendricks; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks is survived by his wife, Margaret; | 3 | | his children, Amy M. (Roger) Cacciatori, Jamie J. Hendricks, | 4 | | and Becky J. Hendricks; his grandchildren, Matt Eskew and | 5 | | Meghan (Zane) Richardson; his great-grandson, Cole Eskew; his | 6 | | sister, Judy (Ken) MacMurdo; his brother, Jeff (Judy) | 7 | | Hendricks; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | James Henry "Jim" Hendricks and extend our sincere condolences | 11 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 12 | | it further
