| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Brianna Hope Wood of Peoria, who | 4 | | passed away on August 23, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Brianna Wood was born in York, Pennsylvania to | 6 | | Jeff and Sandi Okrongley Cross on May 29, 1989; she lived in | 7 | | Pennsylvania for the first eight years of her life; her family | 8 | | then moved to Oxford, Mississippi before relocating to Peoria | 9 | | in 1999; she graduated from Dunlap High School in 2007 and | 10 | | earned her bachelor's degree in Education from St. Ambrose | 11 | | University in 2011; she married Ryan Wood in Peoria on | 12 | | December 19, 2020; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Brianna Wood taught third grade at Harrison | 14 | | School in Peoria, pursuing her life's passion to make a | 15 | | difference in underserved communities; she was devoted to her | 16 | | students, attending their games and performances and checking | 17 | | on them at home; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Brianna Wood loved performing in local community | 19 | | theater productions; whether she was the lead role or a dancer | 20 | | in the ensemble, her smile and energy owned the stage; she also | 21 | | loved crafting, making TikTok videos, and watching The Office; | 22 | | she enjoyed relaxing on the beach and spending time at |

| 1 | | amusement parks, where she would ride the most extreme roller | 2 | | coasters; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Brianna Wood was known for her unmatched capacity | 4 | | to love and her ability to feel every emotion exponentially; | 5 | | she was the first to hit the dance floor, the biggest smile in | 6 | | every photo, and the loudest laugh in the room; she loved her | 7 | | family and friends above all else; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Brianna Wood was preceded in death by her | 9 | | grandmother, Helen Cross; her uncle, Roger Cross; her | 10 | | father-in-law, Steve Wood; and her best friend, Alexa Sheeder; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Brianna Wood is survived by her parents; her | 13 | | husband; her sister, Jordan (Mitch) Ryan; her brother, Trevor | 14 | | Cross; her maternal grandparents, Nancy DenBesten and Walter | 15 | | (Ann Marie) Okrongley; her paternal grandfather, Wayne Cross; | 16 | | her mother-in-law, Edie Wood; her sister-in-law, Erin (Dillon) | 17 | | Kelly; her nephews, Cooper Ryan and Silas Miller; her nieces, | 18 | | Lily Miller and Charlotte Ryan; and her many aunts, uncles, | 19 | | cousins, and other extended family members; therefore, be it
