| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of | 4 | | Christopher Edward Mau of Elgin, who passed away on April 17, | 5 | | 2021; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Christopher Mau was born in Evanston to R. | 7 | | Charles Mau and Maren J. Olson on September 20, 1966; he | 8 | | graduated from Deerfield High School and earned a football | 9 | | scholarship to Drake University; he married Kathleen Kenny in | 10 | | 2007; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Christopher Mau and his wife owned and operated | 12 | | the Blue Box Cafe in Elgin, named for their love of the British | 13 | | television show Doctor Who and the blue Tardis time machine in | 14 | | which the title character travels; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Christopher Mau enjoyed sports and was a | 16 | | "foodie"; he was into all things Doctor Who and the nerd | 17 | | culture; he dabbled in theater and podcasting; he was hard | 18 | | working, generous, and community minded and will be remembered | 19 | | as a gentle giant; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Christopher Mau was preceded in death by his | 21 | | wife, Kathleen; and

Charles (Donna) Mau; his mother-in-law, | 3 | | Marlene Kenney; his sister, Jennifer Mau-Beljaeff; his | 4 | | brother-in-law, Brian (Michelle) Kenney; his aunt, Mary Ann | 5 | | Greuel; his uncle, Donald H. Mau; his cousins, Jamie and Don | 6 | | Mau; his nieces and nephews, Stella (Charles) Laurent, Max | 7 | | Beljaeff, Greta Mau, Cole Kenney, and Megan Kenney; and Angus | 8 | | the dog and Fiona the cat; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 10 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 11 | | we mourn the passing of Christopher Edward Mau and extend our | 12 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | 13 | | and loved him; and be it further
