| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Rose A. Mayerbock of Chicago, who passed | 4 | | away on February 5, 2021 at the age of 66; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock was a beam of light to everyone | 6 | | who met her and a dedicated public servant; she was a vital | 7 | | part of the 39th Ward community; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock first began serving her neighbors | 9 | | as a crossing guard; for fifteen years, her warm smile and | 10 | | enthusiastic greetings were welcomed by many children of the | 11 | | Mayfair and surrounding neighborhoods; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock's cheerful and caring personality | 13 | | made her a natural fit as the Director of Constituent Services | 14 | | for the 39th Ward Public Service Office; under the leadership | 15 | | of Alderman Margaret Laurino and Alderman Samantha Nugent, she | 16 | | quickly earned a reputation for being a "go-to-person" among | 17 | | the Ward's constituency and an unofficial "office Mom" to both | 18 | | young and contemporary colleagues alike; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock's area of expertise was with the | 20 | | Ward's senior citizen population, where she went above and | 21 | | beyond in her service; from addressing a case with an elderly |

| 1 | | property owner that was taken advantage of to ensuring | 2 | | isolated seniors were connected to every resource that local | 3 | | government can provide, she was eager to help even in the most | 4 | | extraordinary and trying scenarios; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock's warm and professional | 6 | | representation of the 39th Ward in monthly senior CAPS | 7 | | meetings and advisory councils made her a well known and | 8 | | respected presence; her leadership led to positive impacts and | 9 | | lasting relationships with the community; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, While Rose Mayerbock's unwavering commitment to | 11 | | her neighbors was well known, anyone who had the opportunity | 12 | | to meet her quickly discovered that her number one priority | 13 | | was being a devoted wife, mother to her three sons, and a | 14 | | grandmother to her grandchildren; she created a welcoming home | 15 | | and always made herself available to friends and family; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, In addition to embodying the spirit of public | 17 | | service and being a wonderful mother, Rose Mayerbock and her | 18 | | husband Bud were active parishioners and volunteers at St. | 19 | | Edward School and Parish; their continued commitment | 20 | | strengthened the Mayfair community; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock will be missed by her family and | 22 | | all who knew her; may her infectious laugh, her "Rosie-isms", |

| 1 | | and her spirit remain in our hearts forever; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock was preceded in death by her | 3 | | husband, Joseph "Bud" Mayerbock; her oldest son, Jay | 4 | | Mayerbock; and her brother, Bob (Anna) Faber; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock is survived by her three sons, | 6 | | Patrick (Gina) Mayerbock, Timothy (Amy) Mayerbock, and Sean | 7 | | (Kara) Mayerbock; her grandchildren, Scarlett Marie, Molly | 8 | | Rose, Debbie Rose, Timothy Joseph "TJ", Macy Lee, and Maddox | 9 | | Jay; her brother, Tom (Kathy); and the thousands of residents | 10 | | she helped over her tenure as a public servant; therefore, be | 11 | | it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 13 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 14 | | we mourn the passing of Rose A. Mayerbock and extend our | 15 | | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | 16 | | and loved her; and be it further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Rose Mayerbock as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy.
