SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 490/194 new

    Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that August 26 of each year is designated as Illinois Constitution Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day to commemorate August 26, 1818 as the day Illinois ratified its first State Constitution.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5adding Section 194 as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 490/194 new)
7    Sec. 194. Illinois Constitution Day. August 26 of each
8year is designated as Illinois Constitution Day, to be
9observed throughout the State as a day to commemorate August
1026, 1818 as the day Illinois ratified its first State
11Constitution.
