| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of George R. Flouret, who passed away on | 4 | | December 22, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Flouret was born in Rosario, Argentina and | 6 | | moved to the United States in 1952; he attended Columbia | 7 | | University and earned his bachelor of science and his master of | 8 | | science; he then attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, | 9 | | where he earned his Ph.D.; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, George Flouret was appointed a full professor at | 11 | | the Medical School of Northwestern University in Chicago and | 12 | | was awarded more than 23 U.S. patents for his medical research; | 13 | | he published many peer-reviewed articles in prestigious | 14 | | medical journals; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, While at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, | 16 | | George Flouret met Nancy, and they married in August of 1963 | 17 | | and eventually settled in Deerfield; they traveled the world | 18 | | together and shared a love of opera; he enjoyed playing soccer | 19 | | and was an accomplished tennis player; he was a long-time | 20 | | Northwestern football season ticket holder; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, George Flouret was preceded in death by his |

| 1 | | daughter, Jean Brett, and his siblings, Richard, Teresa, and | 2 | | Emiliano; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, George Flouret is survived by his wife 55 years of | 4 | | Nancy; his children, Andre (Donna) and Marc; his granddaughter, | 5 | | Brooke; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | George R. Flouret and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of George Flouret as an expression of | 13 | | our deepest sympathy.
