SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Anthony J. "Tony" Vesci Sr. of Maryville,
4who passed away on July 8, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. was born in Granite City to Anthony
6and Florence (Clyde) Vesci on May 3, 1939; he married Linda
7Bess in Corinth, Mississippi on October 5, 1956; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. was an entrepreneur and had 51
9years of service in the beer distribution industry; he owned
10and operated Vesci Inc. from 1956 until 2007; he also worked as
11a developer and contractor locally, as well as in the Lake of
12the Ozarks; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. believed in giving back to the
14community and worked with many organizations, including the
15Elks Lodge, the Moose lodge, and the Jaycees, and contributed
16to many charities and other organizations; he enjoyed his days
17of boating, swimming, motorcycle riding, playing the piano, and
18spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
19he will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to
20help others; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. was preceded in death by his

1parents; his son, Michael A. Vesci; his granddaughter, Michelle
2Vesci; and his brother, George "Buddy" Vesci; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. is survived by his wife, Linda; his
4sons, Anthony J. (Mary L.) Vesci Jr. and Ralph M. (Robin E.)
5Vesci; his grandchildren, Michael and Anthony Vesci; his
6great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ryan, and Bennett; his sister,
7Janet Taylor; his many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; his
8nieces and nephews; and his other extended family and friends;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Anthony J. "Tony" Vesci Sr. and extend our sincere condolences
13to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Tony Vesci Sr. as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
