| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn about the death of George T. Fehrenbacher, DDS of Joliet, | 4 | | who passed away on April 14, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher was born in Joliet to Frank | 6 | | and Mary (Blunk) Fehrenbacher on February 26, 1927; he | 7 | | graduated from St. Patrick's Grade School and Joliet Catholic | 8 | | High School; he joined the United States Coast Guard and was a | 9 | | proud veteran of World War II; upon discharge from the | 10 | | military, he attended St. Joseph College in Rensselear, Indiana | 11 | | for two years and then continued his undergraduate education at | 12 | | Loyola University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in | 13 | | History; he married Eileen K. Kezerle in 1952; in 1954, he | 14 | | graduated from the Loyola University School of Dentistry; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher returned to Joliet and joined | 16 | | his father and uncle in their dental practice; he retired in | 17 | | 1988; during retirement, he and his wife operated Old Ground | 18 | | Antiques in Plainfield; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher was an active member of his | 20 | | community and profession; he was a Big Brother and was active | 21 | | in fundraising for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will County; he | 22 | | was a devout Catholic, a proponent of Catholic education, and |

| 1 | | an active member of the Joliet Catholic Alumni Association; he | 2 | | was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and a | 3 | | former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he served | 4 | | as an usher; he volunteered his professional services through | 5 | | the Salvation Army of Chicago and volunteered his time at the | 6 | | St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Food Pantry; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher enjoyed traveling, especially | 8 | | to Ireland, reading novels and the New Yorker magazine, | 9 | | golfing, and spending time with his family; he will be | 10 | | remembered for his compassion and generosity; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher was preceded in death by his | 12 | | parents; his wife, Eileen; and his brothers, John and Fritz | 13 | | Fehrenbacher; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher is survived by his daughters, | 15 | | Saran Fehrenbacher, Nancy (Bill) Fitzgerald, Julie | 16 | | Fehrenbacher, and Laura (Christopher "Kit") Kreid; his | 17 | | grandchildren, Emily and Christopher Kreid; his sisters, JoAnn | 18 | | (Tom) Sprague, Marian (Dick) Leaman, and Jane (Dick Talbot) | 19 | | Fehrenbacher); and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be | 20 | | it
