| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Matthew Clayton Smock of Harrisburg, who | 4 | | passed away on January 30, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Smock was born in Carbondale to John and | 6 | | Martha (Tolbert) Smock on June 10, 2002; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Smock was a sophomore at Harrisburg High | 8 | | School and aspired to be a video game designer; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Smock enjoyed movies, cooking, WWE | 10 | | wrestling, and his one true love, a black toy poodle, Sammie; | 11 | | he profoundly impacted the lives of all who knew and loved him; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Smock was preceded in death by his | 14 | | paternal grandparents, John Russell and Freda (Turner) Smock; | 15 | | his maternal grandfather, Norman L. Tolbert; his uncle, Tony | 16 | | Shimkus; and his aunt, Linda Robinson; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Smock is survived by his parents; his | 18 | | sister, Amanda Nicole Smock; his maternal grandmother, Betty Jo | 19 | | (Dunn) Tolbert; his aunt, Margaret Shimkus; his uncles, Rusty | 20 | | (Lori) Smock, Steve (Cheryl) Smock, and the Rev. Michael (Rose) |
