SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Virginia R. Timpone of Urbana, who passed
4away on January 19, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone was born in Rantoul to Anthony and
6Hazel Remesch, the seventh of eight children, on January 4,
71956; she was raised in St. Joseph and graduated from St.
8Joseph High School in 1974; she attended Saint Mary of the
9Woods in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she studied art and
10science; she then moved back to Champaign and attended Parkland
11College; she married Raymond M. Timpone Jr. at the Urbana
12Country Club on August 14, 1982; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone, along with Ray, opened the Urbana
14restaurant and family cornerstone, Timpone's Ristorante; her
15artistic instincts and passion to create led her to the
16culinary arts; she attended the New York School of Pastry and
17studied baking and the art of pastry in 1989; in 1998, she
18studied at the Greenbriar Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West
19Virginia; she refined her talent for over 30 years and was
20incredibly proud of "The Restaurant"; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone was involved in her community as a
22volunteer at Holy Cross Grade School, as a benefactor who

1helped drive the construction of Saint Thomas More, and as a
2champion of Catholic education; she was a proud and active
3member of St. Patrick's Parish and served as the trustee of the
4Parish Council for nine years, as well as the Chairperson of
5the Capital Campaign to remodel the church; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone enjoyed sewing and design and took
7pride in remodeling her lake house; she also enjoyed gardening
8and time spent in Florida with family; she lived her life with
9compassion, thoughtfulness, and support to all and embodied the
10family motto, "No matter what, we always stick together"; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone was preceded in death by her son,
12Raymond N. Timpone; her sister, Mary Remesch Waller; and her
13brother, Michael Remesch; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ginger Timpone is survived by her husband, Ray;
15her children, Nicholas (Gabrielle) Timpone and Natalie
16Timpone; her grandson, Ryan Timpone; her siblings, Jeanne
17Grady, Kathy Sarnecki, Tony Remesch, David Remesch, and Monica
18Munds; and her many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and
19friends; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
22Virginia R. Timpone and extend our sincere condolences to her

1family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
2further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Ginger Timpone as an expression of
5our deepest sympathy.
