| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph John "Joe" Misurelli of Bull | 4 | | Valley, who passed away on December 23, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joe Misurelli was born in Chicago to Alexander and | 6 | | Barbara (Kreuser) Misurelli on October 10, 1952; he graduated | 7 | | from St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights and from | 8 | | Marquette University in Milwaukee; he earned his master's | 9 | | degree in public administration from Northern Illinois | 10 | | University and married Edie Bock at St. Anne Catholic Church in | 11 | | Barrington on July 9, 1977; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Joe Misurelli served an internship in management | 13 | | with Elk Grove Village and then was hired as the Assistant City | 14 | | Manager for Crystal Lake for 3 1/2 years; he was then appointed | 15 | | as City Manager for Crystal Lake with a combined service of | 16 | | over 26 years; his proudest accomplishment was consolidating | 17 | | all Crystal Lake city buildings into the new city hall without | 18 | | any tax increases to Crystal Lake residents; he then worked for | 19 | | Genoa as city manager and as a consultant for a combined | 20 | | service of 15 years; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Joe Misurelli served on the Memorial Medical | 22 | | Center Board of Directors from 1991 to 1997; he joined the |

| 1 | | Centegra Hospital Board of Governors from 1997 to 2006, where | 2 | | he also served as Chairman of the Finance Committee and as a | 3 | | member of the Planning Committee; he served on the NIMED Board | 4 | | and the Centegra Management Service Board; he was a member of | 5 | | the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, the City Managers | 6 | | Association, and the Sister City Committee for Holzgerlingen, | 7 | | Germany; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Joe Misurelli was a devoted husband and loving | 9 | | dad; he was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed classic | 10 | | cars, fishing, Blues music, and a good cigar; he was an avid | 11 | | reader of European history and had a vast home library; he had | 12 | | a great love for genealogy research and he devoted many years | 13 | | of extensive research on family history, dating back to the | 14 | | 1600s, ultimately discovering new relatives; he had an unique | 15 | | sense of humor and loved telling""Dad Jokes"; he could fix | 16 | | almost anything; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Joe Misurelli was preceded in death by his | 18 | | parents; his brother, Thomas; his nephew, Alex; and his | 19 | | cousins, Dan, Jim, Dick, and Mary Beth; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Joe Misurelli is survived by his wife of 40 years, | 21 | | Edie; his sons, Joseph (Sarah) and Jason; his brother, Jeffrey | 22 | | Misurelli; his niece, Dana (Brian) Marino; his great-niece, | 23 | | Luciana; his Misurelli cousins, Patty, Gail, Bill, Steve, |

| 1 | | Michele, Christi, Lisa, and many new-found cousins in Kenosha, | 2 | | Wisconsin; and his Kreuser cousins, MaryAnn, Ruth, Rory, Carol, | 3 | | and numerous others; therefore, be it
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Joseph John "Joe" Misurelli, and extend our sincere condolences | 7 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 8 | | it further
