SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Glen A. "Pete" Borman Jr. of Alton, who passed away on February 25, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. was born in Alton to Glenn Borman Sr. and Eleanor (Hartmann) Borman on February 24, 1938; he graduated from St. Mary's grade school, Marquette Catholic High School, and St. Louis University; he married Jane Kaveler on May 7, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. went to work at McDonnell Aircraft as a liaison engineer and continued on as it became McDonnell-Douglas and then Boeing; he spent most of his career on the design and production of the F-15 fighter and retired after 54 years on October 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. had several hobbies including, Santa's workshop foreman, golf, hunting, woodworking, and enjoyed requests from family to design and produce challenging pieces of furniture; he belonged to the Sportsman's Club, the Eagle's Club, and was president of the Owl's Club for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; infants, Paula Jean and Tiny Tim; his granddaughter, Emily; and his sister, Patricia McCollam; and

WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. is survived by his wife, Jane; his children, Andrew "Big Bird" Borman, Tom "Lurch" (Heather), Tim "Moon Dog", and Scott "Tweety" (Angela) Borman; his grandchildren, Clayton, Jessica, Isabel, Lily, Clara, Sophie, and Spencer; his sisters, Carol (Guy) Nasello, and Sue Nagy (Steve Leahy); his brother-in-law, Don McCollam; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Glen A. "Pete" Borman Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Glen Borman Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
