2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Andrew Wilson Easton of Gillespie, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on January 12, 2017 at the age of 59; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Andrew Easton was born in Alton to Andrew Easton | ||||||
6 | and Florence Heyen Easton on February 11, 1957; he married | ||||||
7 | Donna Griffel Easton in Gillespie on December 9, 1978; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Andrew Easton was a member of the 1974 Gillespie | ||||||
9 | Football Team state qualifiers in Class 2A; he was a 1975 | ||||||
10 | graduate of Gillespie High School and a 1978 graduate of | ||||||
11 | Eastern Illinois University; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Andrew Easton was a teacher of business, | ||||||
13 | computers, science and economics at Litchfield High School, | ||||||
14 | Pana Middle School, Gillespie High School, and Gillespie Middle | ||||||
15 | School for over 20 years; he coached football in Litchfield, | ||||||
16 | Pana, Carlinville, Gillespie, Mt. Olive, and Taylorville; he | ||||||
17 | coached football, wrestling, cross country, track, and girls | ||||||
18 | basketball at the high school level; he coached track, boys | ||||||
19 | basketball, and girls basketball at the middle school level; he | ||||||
20 | also coached Gillespie Junior Football League, numerous | ||||||
21 | traveling teams, as well as individual athletes; he was an | ||||||
22 | assistant coach of the 1993 Carlinville High School Football |

1 | Class 2A State Runner Up; he was the assistant coach of the | ||||||
2 | 1998 Gillespie Middle School Boys Basketball Class 7AA who | ||||||
3 | reached fourth place at State; his passion to motivate his | ||||||
4 | students and athletes to achieve their highest level will be | ||||||
5 | his lasting legacy; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Andrew Easton had an accounting tax business in | ||||||
7 | Gillespie for a number of years and was a Gillespie City | ||||||
8 | Council Member; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Andrew Easton attended United Methodist Church of | ||||||
10 | Gillespie; he was a member of the Fellowship of Christian | ||||||
11 | Athletes; he had an interest in the stock market, music, and | ||||||
12 | was a student of sports; and | ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Andrew Easton was preceded in death by his father; | ||||||
14 | and | ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Andrew Easton is survived by his mother, Florence | ||||||
16 | Easton; his wife, Donna Easton; his children, Andrew Easton, | ||||||
17 | Alyce Easton, and Alex Easton; his grandchildren, Amour D. | ||||||
18 | Easton and Andrew L. Easton; his siblings, Ann Marie Easton and | ||||||
19 | John Easton; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dave and | ||||||
20 | Mary Griffel; therefore, be it

21 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |

1 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
2 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Andrew Wilson Easton, | ||||||
3 | and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and | ||||||
4 | all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
6 | presented to the family of Andrew Easton as an expression of | ||||||
7 | our deepest sympathy.
