SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Glen David Gray of Wood River, who passed
4away on December 31, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glen Gray was born in Alton to Jacob Ansell and
6Helen (Ferrell) Gray on November 21, 1946; he married Janice L.
7Boswell at Bethel Free Will Baptist church in South Roxana on
8October 16, 1965; he served in the United States Army as an
9Engineer-Atomic Demolitions Expert during the Vietnam War; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Following his service, Glen Gray worked at the
11McDonnell Douglas Corp. in St. Louis, Missouri; he attended
12Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1970 for his
13associate's degree in Mortuary Science and co-founded the Gray
14Funeral Home in Wood River with his family in 1978, of which he
15was a part for 38 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Glen Gray was preceded in death by his parents;
17his daughter, Clark Ann Gingerich; his brother, Laren A. Gray;
18and his brothers-in-law, David Smith, and Royall and Rodney
19Hannis; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Glen Gray is survived by a son and
21daughter-in-law, Stephen Ansell, and Denise Michele

1(McClintock) Gray; his son-in-law, Steve Gingerich; his
2grandchildren, Jacob Ansell, Caleb Michael, Hannah Kimberley,
3and Levi Stephen Gray; his sisters, Karen Smith, and Susan
4Gray; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie Gray,
5Doyle and Faye Stegall, and Gladys Hannis; and many nieces,
6nephews, great-nephews, and great-great-nephews; therefore, be
7it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Glen David Gray, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Glen Gray as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
