SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gloria M. Winters of Godfrey, who passed
4away on December 30, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gloria Winters was born in Flint, Michigan to Earl
6and Janice (Richards) Manns on June 5, 1931; she graduated from
7Marquette Catholic High School in 1949 and married Ernest L.
8Winters in Alton in March of 1965; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gloria Winters retired from the business office at
10the Beverly Farm Foundation after over 30 years of service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gloria Winters was an avid bridge player for over
1260 years; she was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul
13Proto-Cathedral Church in Alton; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gloria Winters was preceded in death by her
15parents; her husband, Ernest; her daughter, Julie Volo; her
16son, Timothy Winters; and her grandchildren, Michael
17DeAngelis, Chad Volo, and Courtney Volo; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gloria Winters is survived by her daughters,
19Michelle (Ernie) DeAngelis, Melanie Woodson, Glory Dabbs, Dana
20(Michael) Sedlak, Lucy Dabbs, and Polly (Mike) Walters; her

1grandchildren, Christopher Woodson, Nicholas DeAngelis, Jacob
2and Colin Weingart, Conner and Kelsey Sedlak, and Hannah,
3Nathan, and Meredith Walters; many great-grandchildren; her
4sisters, Janice Jenkins, and Dana Hielema; and very special
5nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Gloria M. Winters, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Gloria Winters as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
