HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Oak Lawn Police Chief Michael Murray on the occasion of his retirement after 30 years of service with the Oak Lawn Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Chief Murray is a lifelong resident of Oak Lawn; he joined the police department in July of 1987; and

WHEREAS, Chief Murray spent five years in the patrol division before switching to investigations; he was promoted to chief in 2013; and

WHEREAS, Chief Murray graduated from St. Catherine of Alexandria School and Marist High School; he earned his bachelor's degree in sociology with an emphasis on law enforcement at Benedictine University in 1984; and

WHEREAS, Chief Murray and his wife, Cathy, have five children, Tim, Molly, Christopher, Allyson, and Benjamin; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Oak Lawn Police Chief Michael Murray on his retirement after 30 years of service with the Oak Lawn Police Department, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Murray as an expression of our esteem and respect.
