HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Leroy E. McPherson on the 
4occasion of his retirement as superintendent for the City of 
5Fairbury on June 30, 2017; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Leroy McPherson was hired by Fairbury on May 1, 
71972; one of his proudest achievements was helping to design 
8and build a waste water plant for the city in 1977; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Leroy McPherson became public works administrator 
10in 1980; he was part of the installation of the city's water 
11tower in 1995; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Leroy McPherson was also a part of the Fairbury 
13Fire Department; he joined the department in 1975 and served as 
14firefighter, assistant chief, and chief, beginning in 2007; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Leroy McPherson grew up in Fairbury and has always 
16believed in doing all he can for his community; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Leroy McPherson plans on continuing to work with 
18the city in his retirement, and is looking forward to spending 
19time outdoors; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate Leroy E. McPherson on his retirement as 
4superintendent for the City of Fairbury, and we wish him the 
5best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Leroy McPherson as a symbol of our respect and 
8esteem.
