SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
410 ILCS 82/15

    Amends the Smoke Free Illinois Act. Provides that no person shall smoke within 15 feet of any entrance to an enclosed or partially enclosed youth sporting event. Provides that no person shall smoke within 250 feet of the field of play, including areas for spectators and participants, at a youth sporting event held in an outdoor setting. Defines "youth sporting event" as an event where all players are under the age of 18 and the event is sponsored and supervised by a public body or a not-for-profit entity.

1    AN ACT concerning health.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Smoke Free Illinois Act is amended by
5changing Section 15 as follows:
 
6    (410 ILCS 82/15)
7    Sec. 15. Smoking in public places, places of employment,
8and governmental vehicles and at youth sporting events
9prohibited. No person shall smoke in a public place, enclosed
10or partially enclosed youth sporting event, or in any place of
11employment or within 15 feet of any entrance to a public place
12or place of employment. No person may smoke in any vehicle
13owned, leased, or operated by the State or a political
14subdivision of the State. An owner shall reasonably assure that
15smoking is prohibited in indoor public places and workplaces
16unless specifically exempted by Section 35 of this Act.
17    No person shall smoke within 250 feet of the field of play,
18including areas for spectators and participants, at a youth
19sporting event held in an outdoor setting. For the purposes of
20this Section, "youth sporting event" means an event where all
21players are under the age of 18 and the event is sponsored and
22supervised by a public body or a not-for-profit entity.
