AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2771

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2771, AS AMENDED, in
3Section 10 of the bill, by replacing the definition of
4"Employee" with the following:
5""Employee" means any person who performs services for an
6employer for wage, remuneration, or other compensation. This
7includes persons working any number of hours, including a
8full-time or part-time status. "Employee" does not include any
9employee of an employer subject to the provisions of Title II
10of the Railway Labor Act (45 U.S.C. 181 et seq.) or to an
11employer or employee as defined in either the federal Railroad
12Unemployment Insurance Act (45 U.S.C. 351 et seq.) or the
13Federal Employers' Liability Act, United States Code, Title 45,
14Sections 51 through 60, or other comparable federal law.
15Nothing in this Section shall hinder or prohibit the ability of
16an exempted employee from taking non-compensated time off due
17to an illness."; and

1in Section 10 of the bill by replacing the definition of
2"Healthcare provider" with the following:
3    ""Healthcare provider" means a person who is: (i) licensed
4to practice medicine in all of its branches in Illinois and
5possesses the degree of doctor of medicine; (ii) licensed to
6practice medicine in all of its branches in Illinois and
7possesses the degree of doctor of osteopathy or osteopathic
8medicine; (iii) licensed to practice medicine in all of its
9branches or as an osteopathic physician in another state or
10jurisdiction; (iv) a chiropractic physician licensed under the
11Medical Practice Act of 1987; or (v) any other person as
12determined by the final rule under the Family and Medical Leave
13Act of 1993 in effect as of the effective date of this Act.".
