1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 711
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 711 on page 1, by
3 replacing lines 12 through 15 with the following:
4 "1990 Federal census.
5 (a-5) In 2021, the General Assembly shall redraw the
6 boundaries of the subcircuits to reflect the results of the
7 2020 federal decennial census. In accordance with subsection
8 (d), a resident judgeship assigned to a subcircuit shall
9 continue to be assigned to that subcircuit. Any vacancy in a
10 resident judgeship existing on or occurring after the effective
11 date of a law redrawing the boundaries of the subcircuits shall
12 be filled by a resident of the redrawn subcircuit.".
