SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jenna Martin Seelbach of Springfield, who passed away on March 4, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was born on August 12, 1978 in Springfield; her parents were Gary and Michele Martin Seelbach; she married Shawn Darr on May 10, 2007 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; and

WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was a graduate of Springfield High School and the St. John's College of Nursing, where she was the President of her class and a member of Sigma Theta Tau; and

WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach worked as an Events Coordinator for the Crowne Plaza Hotel, a Legislative Assistant for the Illinois State Senate, and, most recently, a Clinical Research Specialist for the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine; and

WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach enjoyed being a sponsor for the Make a Wish Foundation and a volunteer at Camp CoCo; and

WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach is survived by her husband, Shawn Darr; her parents; her sisters, Angela (Michael) Agnich and Sadie (Karl) Samson; her aunts and uncles, Anne Martin Kearney, Mary Martin Dean, Gene Seelbach, Ginger Bensch, Gale and Keith Harms, Gloria Gietl, Gwen Jennings, Geoff Seelbach, and Geri and Roger Adams; her nieces, Maci and Ashlyn Agnich; her nephews, Andrew and Maximilian Samson; and her several cousins; and

WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was an inspiration to all of her family and friends, living every moment of life to its fullest and never taking anything for granted; and

WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach's courage is a shining example to all and reminds us that no setback can withstand the conviction to overcome adversity; and

WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach's infectious laughter and unwavering positivity were matched only by her husband Shawn, who continues to carry on her bright legacy for all of us; and

WHEREAS, All of us are better people for having known Jenna Seelbach and are honored to be a part of her story; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Jenna Martin Seelbach; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jenna Seelbach as an expression of our sympathy.
