| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Patrick R. Condon of Joliet, who passed | 4 | | away on February 19, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Patrick Condon was born in Joliet to John R. and | 6 | | Cecile (nee Bannon) Condon on May 30, 1925; he graduated from | 7 | | St. Raymond Grade School, and Joliet Catholic High School in | 8 | | 1943; he attended Joliet Junior College, where he was the | 9 | | Junior College National Leading Scorer for basketball | 10 | | 1944-1945; he served as an Ensign aboard the aircraft carrier | 11 | | LSM-176 assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World | 12 | | War II; he graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a | 13 | | Bachelor of Science in Naval Sciences in 1947 and from | 14 | | Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Business | 15 | | Administration in 1950; he married Norma J. Steinke on January | 16 | | 26, 1952; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Patrick Condon was self-employed for 23 years as a | 18 | | manufacturing representative, retiring in 1993; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Patrick Condon was a member of Knights of Columbus | 20 | | Council #387 for 65 years; he, along with his wife, Norma, | 21 | | supported and volunteered their time at St. Patrick's Catholic | 22 | | Church, School, and Retirement Home, St. Jude Catholic Church |

| 1 | | and School, St. Francis Academy, and Joliet Catholic High | 2 | | School; from 1985 to 2010, he served with Will County Habitat | 3 | | for Humanity by finding donated land to build new homes; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Patrick Condon was awarded Joliet Catholic | 5 | | Academy's Alumni of the Year in 1990 and Will County Habitat | 6 | | for Humanity Honors for Extraordinary Service in 2013; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Patrick Condon was preceded in death by his | 8 | | beloved wife of 61 years, Norma; his parents; and his in-laws, | 9 | | Joseph and Louise (nee Sommer) Steinke; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Patrick Condon is survived by his children, Brian | 11 | | R. (Jody) Condon, Peggy A. Condon, Michael J. (Deb) Condon, | 12 | | Jane M. (Dick Hunckler) Condon, Caryn L. Condon, Mary Kay | 13 | | Green, John W. (Laurie) Condon, and Cathy C. (Rob) Houston; his | 14 | | 19 grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle) Condon, Shannon | 15 | | (Mark) Yundt, Jonathan (Natalie) Cruz, Kyle, Kaitlin, and | 16 | | Lindsay Condon, Sean (Shenna) Boyer, Hayley Boyer, Andrew, | 17 | | Sarah, Casey, and Kevin Green, Grant and Kent Williams, Alex | 18 | | and Dana Condon, and Colleen, Joe, and Grace Loverde; his | 19 | | great-grandchildren, Colton and Cade Condon, Aiden and Paige | 20 | | Yundt, and Anna and Gabriella Cruz; his siblings, Fr. William | 21 | | F. Condon, Marilyn Flavin, and Virginia Hartmann; his | 22 | | sister-in-law, Mary Alice Steinke; and numerous nieces and | 23 | | nephews; therefore, be it
