| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph L. McCaffrey of Silvis, who passed | 4 | | away on November 2, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey was born on July 4, 1927 in | 6 | | Quincy; his parents were Sydney and Lee Edna Groce McCaffrey; | 7 | | he married Betty Margaret Clifton on June 11, 1950 in | 8 | | Davenport, Iowa; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey worked as a supervisor in Tool & | 10 | | Dye for John Deere Harvester Works for many years until his | 11 | | retirement in 1985; following his retirement, he worked at the | 12 | | Rock Island Arsenal from 1986 to 1991; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey proudly served in the United | 14 | | States Army at the end of World War II during the Occupation of | 15 | | Japan; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey was preceded in death by his | 17 | | parents and his loving wife, Betty; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey is survived by his daughters, | 19 | | Norma (Charles) Nagle, Barbara (Gary) Losey, and Carol (Robert) | 20 | | Ariss; his grandchildren, Keith Nagle, Kevin Nagle, Kathy |
