| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mildred F. Pucel of Shorewood, who passed | 4 | | away on May 30, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mildred Pucel was born in Joliet on August 23, | 6 | | 1923 to Joseph and Josephine (nee Setina) Erjavec; she | 7 | | graduated from St. Joseph Parochial School in 1936, St. Francis | 8 | | Academy in 1940, and the College of St. Francis in 1944; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Mildred Pucel was an elementary teacher at St. | 10 | | Joseph Parochial School from 1964 to 1975 and a school crossing | 11 | | guard for the City of Joliet from 1985 to 2004; she was a | 12 | | democratic election judge in precinct #26 and a volunteer usher | 13 | | at the Rialto Square Theatre; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Mildred Pucel was a member of Slovenian Women's | 15 | | Union Branch 20, where she was Mother of the Year in 1972, | 16 | | President in 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1988, and Vice-President | 17 | | from 1976 to 1985; she was a charter member of the SWU Drill | 18 | | Team and a member of the Rosarian Club of St. Joseph Church, | 19 | | the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph | 20 | | Church Seniors, and St. Joseph Lodge #2 KSKJ, where she was the | 21 | | 1st female officer in the 100 year history and recording | 22 | | secretary from 1990 to 1991; she was also a member of American |

| 1 | | Legion Auxiliary Unit 1080, where she was President in 1955, | 2 | | Cantigny VFW Auxiliary #367, the Catholic High Mothers Club, | 3 | | the St. Francis Academy Alumina Association, and the College of | 4 | | St. Francis Alumni Association; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mildred Pucel was preceded in death by her husband | 6 | | of 54 years, Rudolph J.; her parents; and her 2 sisters, | 7 | | Lucille Viola Erjavec and Olga (the late Edward) Ancel; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Mildred Pucel is survived by her 4 sons, | 9 | | Christopher Michael (Julia, nee Maloney), Philip Gregory | 10 | | (Christine, nee Olson), Rudy Thomas, and Victor Joseph Pucel; | 11 | | her 4 grandsons, Eric Joseph (Courtney, nee O'Brien), Zachary | 12 | | John (Sarah, nee Ansted), Nicholas James (Stacey, nee | 13 | | Yarmoska), and Benjamin Joseph Pucel; her granddaughter, | 14 | | Rachel Anna Pucel; her great-grandchildren, Teagan, Blake, | 15 | | Andrew, and Natalie Pucel; and her siblings, Jonita Ruth and | 16 | | Ronald (Marylou) Erjavec; therefore, be it
