AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2505

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2505 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The College and Career Success for All Students
5Act is amended by changing Section 30 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 302/30)
7    Sec. 30. Postsecondary-level Examination;
8postsecondary-level course credit.
9    (a) In this Section: , "institution
10    "Institution of higher education" means a public
11university or public community college located in this State.
12    "International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject"
13means an International Baccalaureate course taken by either
14International Baccalaureate diploma candidates or by
15International Baccalaureate course candidates.
16    "Subject score" means the total points awarded to a

1candidate for an International Baccalaureate course based on
2fulfillment of all subject requirements, including the
3end-of-course examination.
4    (b) Beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year, scores of
53, 4, and 5 on the College Board Advanced Placement
6examinations and, beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year,
7subject scores of 4 or higher for International Baccalaureate
8Diploma Programme subjects shall be accepted for credit to
9satisfy degree requirements by all institutions of higher
10education. Each institution of higher education shall
11determine for each Advanced Placement test and International
12Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject whether credit will be
13granted for electives, general education requirements, or
14major requirements and the Advanced Placement and
15International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject scores
16required to grant credit for those purposes.
17    (c) By the conclusion of the 2020-2021 2019-2020 academic
18year, the Board of Higher Education, in cooperation with the
19Illinois Community College Board, shall analyze the Advanced
20Placement examination and International Baccalaureate Diploma
21Programme subject score course granting policy of each
22institution of higher education and the research used by each
23institution in determining the level of credit and the number
24of credits provided for the Advanced Placement and
25International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject scores
26in accordance with the requirements of this Section and file a

1report that includes findings and recommendations to the
2General Assembly and the Governor. Each institution of higher
3education shall provide the Board of Higher Education and the
4Illinois Community College Board with all necessary data, in
5accordance with the federal Family Educational Rights and
6Privacy Act of 1974, to conduct the analysis.
7    (d) Each institution of higher education shall publish its
8updated Advanced Placement examination and International
9Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject score course granting
10policy in accordance with the requirements of this Section on
11its Internet website before the beginning of the 2017-2018
122016-2017 academic year.
