1    AN ACT concerning public aid.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 12-4.49 as follows:
 
6    (305 ILCS 5/12-4.49 new)
7    Sec. 12-4.49. Waiver proposal; working group. The
8Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall convene a
9working group in consultation with the Office of the Governor
10to discuss the development of a revised proposal for the
11research and demonstration project waiver proposal submitted
12to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on June 4,
132014 under Section 1115 of the Social Security Act. The working
14group shall include the following members:
15        (1) Three members of the General Assembly chosen by the
16    Speaker of the House of Representatives.
17        (2) Three members of the General Assembly chosen by the
18    Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
19        (3) Three members of the General Assembly chosen by the
20    President of the Senate.
21        (4) Three members of the General Assembly chosen by the
22    Minority Leader of the Senate.
23    The purpose of the working group shall be to provide input

1and advice to the Department and the Office of the Governor
2with regard to the development of the proposal to utilize a
3research and demonstration waiver. The working group shall meet
4initially at the call of the Speaker of the House of
5Representatives and the President of the Senate and at least
6once each quarter year thereafter until the waiver either is
7approved by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or
8expires. The Department shall provide administrative support
9for the working group.
10    Members shall not be compensated for their participation in
11the working group but may receive reimbursement for travel
12expenses. The working group shall be dissolved on the date of
13federal approval or expiration of the research and
14demonstration project waiver proposal submitted to the U.S.
15Department of Health and Human Services on June 4, 2014 under
16Section 1115 of the Social Security Act.
 
17    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
18becoming law.
