1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 6266
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 6266 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Local Records Act is amended by adding
5 Section 25 as follows:

6     (50 ILCS 205/25 new)
7     Sec. 25. Police misconduct records. All records related to
8 complaints, investigations, and adjudications of police
9 misconduct shall be permanently retained and may not be
10 destroyed.

11     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
12 becoming law.".
