Creates the Law Enforcement Agency Report of Officer Firearm Discharge Act. Provides that each law enforcement agency shall report to the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board any time a law enforcement officer discharges his or her firearm within 7 days of the officer submitting his or her report to the law enforcement agency indicating that the officer discharged his or her service firearm in the performance of the officer's official duties. Amends the Illinois Police Training Act. Provides that the Executive Director of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board shall submit semi-annual reports to the Governor, President
and
Minority Leader of the Senate, and to the Speaker and Minority Leader of the
House
of Representatives beginning within 6 months after the effective date of the amendatory Act, indicating the number of law enforcement officers who discharged their service firearms in the performance of their official duties.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Law |
5 | | Enforcement Agency Report of Officer Firearm Discharge Act. |
6 | | Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act: |
7 | | "Law enforcement agency" means an agency of this State or |
8 | | unit of local government
which is vested by law or ordinance |
9 | | with the duty to maintain public order
and to enforce criminal |
10 | | laws or ordinances. |
11 | | "Law enforcement officer" means any officer,
agent, or |
12 | | employee of this State or a unit of local government authorized |
13 | | by law or by a government agency
to engage in or supervise the |
14 | | prevention, detection, or
investigation of any violation of |
15 | | criminal law, or authorized by
law to supervise sentenced |
16 | | criminal offenders. |
17 | | Section 10. Law enforcement agency report law enforcement |
18 | | officer discharge of firearms. Each law enforcement agency |
19 | | shall report to the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards |
20 | | Board any time a law enforcement officer discharges his or her |
