Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971. Provides that the Act does not apply to members of the General Assembly and requires members of the General Assembly to obtain group health benefits through the Illinois Health Benefits Exchange Law. Effective immediately.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971 |
| 5 | | is amended by adding Section 2.10 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 375/2.10 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 2.10. Application to members of the Illinois General |
| 8 | | Assembly. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act to |
| 9 | | the contrary, this Act does not apply to any member of the |
| 10 | | General Assembly with respect to that service. Members of the |
| 11 | | General Assembly shall obtain group health benefits through the |
| 12 | | Illinois Health Benefits Exchange Law.

| 13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 14 | | becoming law.
