| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James "Jim" Monday of Collinsville, who | 4 | | passed away on September 15, 2011; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born October 27, 1948, in Joliet, the son | 6 | | of Shirley (Pritz) Monday and the late James C. Monday; he | 7 | | married Michelle R. "Shelly" (Soles) Monday on April 19, 1997, | 8 | | in Granite City; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, He retired March 28, 2006, as the Director of | 10 | | Administration for Madison County after 23 years of dedicated | 11 | | service; he was a member of the National Association of County | 12 | | Administrators; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, He enjoyed photography, traveling, bird watching, | 14 | | and spending time with his grandchildren; he was an avid | 15 | | baseball fan and will be remembered for the love and special | 16 | | times shared with his family and friends; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father; and his | 18 | | stepson, Michael Charles Moore; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, James Monday is survived by his wife, Michelle; | 20 | | his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Reed; his son |

| 1 | | and daughter-in-law, Keith and Laurabree Monday; his stepson | 2 | | and his wife, Brian and Jamie Haldeman; his grandchildren, | 3 | | Daniel Reed, Joshua Reed, James Haldeman, and Ethan Monday; his | 4 | | brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Diane Monday and Scott | 5 | | and Tina Monday; and other extended family and friends; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 9 | | his family and friends, the passing of James Monday; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of James Monday as a symbol of our | 13 | | sincere sympathy.
