SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Vera C. Pratt of Girard, who passed away
4on December 9, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on November 15, 1933 a daughter of
6Oliver William and Nellie Joy (Taylor) Sheppard; she married
7Bill H. Pratt on January 11, 1952 in Yuma, Arizona; and
 
8    WHEREAS, She was a 1951 graduate of Girard High School, and
9worked for 33 years at the Macoupin County Courthouse; she was
10a member of the Virden Senior Citizens, The Girard Senior
11Citizens, a teacher's aide at Girard Elementary School for 13
12years where she was affectionately known as "Mrs. P.", and a
13member of the Macoupin County Board for many years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill;
15her brother, Gerald Sheppard; and her sisters, Mary Ellen Mason
16and Norma MacKenzie; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Vera Pratt is survived by her daughter, Debbie J.
18(Mike) Marsaglia; her grandsons, Rich M. (Bethany) Marsaglia
19and Eric W. (Dawn) Marsaglia; her great-grandchildren, Kade,
20Rome, Charlee, and Brock Marsaglia; her sisters, Jean (Bill)
21Hatcher and Marjorie (Glenn) Howard; and several nieces and

1nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
4her family and friends, the passing of Vera Pratt; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Vera Pratt as a symbol of our
8sincere sympathy.
