| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Stephanie (Stella) Walczak of North | 4 |
| Chicago, who passed away on June 26, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born in North Chicago, on December 14, | 6 |
| 1915, and was a life-long resident; Stella married Leo (Beef) | 7 |
| Walczak on October 6, 1934; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Stella was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic | 9 |
| Church, formerly Holy Rosary Catholic Church; she was a member | 10 |
| of the Catholic Women's Club of Lake County, the Greater North | 11 |
| Chicago Seniors, Polish Roman Catholic Union, St. Joe's Club, | 12 |
| St. Elizabeth Club, the Rosary Sodality, and the American | 13 |
| Legion Auxiliary; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Stella bowled in several leagues, loved to play | 15 |
| golf, and at family gatherings was an avid cribbage player; she | 16 |
| retired from the North Chicago school system with 16 years of | 17 |
| service, having worked at Neal, North Chicago High School, and | 18 |
| retiring from Novak King as Cafeteria Manager; Stella was also | 19 |
| a noted caterer in the North Chicago/Waukegan area for over 50 | 20 |
| years; Stella was a great believer in family and family values | 21 |
| and devoted her life to her immediate and extended family; and

| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her | 2 |
| parents; her daughter, Lenny (Mac) McNeil; and her brothers, | 3 |
| Anthony (Stephie), Joseph (Sophie), and William; and
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Stephanie (Stella) Walczak is survived by her | 5 |
| daughters, Theresa Walczak and Sally (Louie) Rigwood; her | 6 |
| grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Patricia Rigwood (C.J. | 7 |
| Brown), Anne (Michael) Drasler and Ben, Victoria and Logan, | 8 |
| James (Tanya) Rigwood and Megan and Jenna, Thomas (Jane) | 9 |
| Rigwood and Danielle, Michael (Laura) Rigwood and Jessica, | 10 |
| Kyle, and Taylor Rigwood, Loretta (Ronald) Lackey, Denise | 11 |
| McNeil, and Annie, Timothy (Abby) McNeil and Sam and Max, John | 12 |
| (Chris) McNeil and Jake, Brady and Owen, and Connor, Nancy | 13 |
| McNeil, and Rebecca (Shane) Sample, Katy (Joe) Pament and | 14 |
| Tierra, Brianna, Kayle, Josh (Shannon) and Madison, and Joey | 15 |
| (Amanda) and JC; her brothers, Bruno (the late Virginia) and | 16 |
| Stanley (the late Susan); and her sister-in-law, Carol (the | 17 |
| late Leo (Tuffy)) Bobrowski; her many nieces, nephews, cousins | 18 |
| and god children; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 20 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 21 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Stephanie (Stella) | 22 |
| Walczak; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
