1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3592
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3592 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Township Road District Review Act.

6     Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act:
7     "Department" means the Illinois Department of
8 Transportation.
9     "Study" means an analysis of the township road districts in
10 counties with a population of 1,000,000 or more inhabitants and
11 counties that are contiguous to counties with a population of
12 1,000,000 or more inhabitants. The study shall include a list
13 of all township road districts, their tax levy, the length of
14 road maintained, and the costs incurred in the township road
15 districts, including road maintenance, equipment, facilities,
16 personal services, and benefits, if any.

1     "Township road district" means roads which are part of the
2 township and district road system as described in Section 2-103
3 of the Illinois Highway Code.

4     Section 10. Study. The Department shall conduct a study of
5 township road districts and shall deliver to the Governor and
6 General Assembly a copy of this study no later than December
7 31, 2010.

8     Section 15. Repeal. This Act is repealed on January 1,
9 2011.

10     Section 999. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
11 becoming law.".
