AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2551

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2551 on page 7,
3 line 7, by inserting after "government" the following:
4 "or other law enforcement agency"; and
 
5 on page 7, line 12, by inserting after "government" the
6 following:
7 "and law enforcement agencies"; and
 
8 on page 7, line 24, by inserting after the period the
9 following:
10 "If the prosecution was conducted by the Attorney General, then
11 the amount provided under this subsection shall be paid into
12 the State Asset Forfeiture Fund in the State treasury to be
13 used by the Attorney General in accordance with law."; and
 
14 on page 8, line 10, by inserting after the period the
15 following:

1 "If the appeal is to be conducted by the Attorney General, then
2 the amount provided under this subsection shall be paid into
3 the State Asset Forfeiture Fund in the State treasury to be
4 used by the Attorney General in accordance with law."; and
 
5 on page 8, line 25, by inserting after "Act," the following:
6 "or is convicted of a violation of any of the following
7 Sections of Title 18 of the United States Code: (i) Section 872
8 (extortion); (ii) Section 880 (receiving the proceeds of
9 extortion); (iii) Section 201 (bribery); or (iv) Section 874
10 (kickbacks),"; and
 
11 on page 9, by replacing lines 4 and 5 with the following:
12 "committee (as defined by Section 9-1.8 of the Election
13 Code),"; and
 
14 on page 14, by replacing lines 20 and 21 with the following:
15     "(a) A political committee, or organization subject to
16 Section 9-7.5, shall not make expenditures:"; and
 
17 on page 18, line 11, by replacing "(i)" with "(i)"; and
 
18 on page 18, by replacing lines 12 and 13 with the following:
19 "officeholder or by a candidate or (ii) an organization subject
20 to Section 9-7.5 to defray the customary and reasonable"; and

1 on page 18, by replacing lines 17 and 18 with the following:
2 "political committee which is controlled by a person convicted
3 of a violation"; and
 
4 on page 18, by replacing lines 24 and 25 with the following:
 
5     "Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
6 1, 2011.".
