| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jake Stroth of | 4 |
| Lincolnshire for receiving the coveted title of Eagle Scout; | 5 |
| and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Jake Stroth is an 18-year-old senior at Adlai E. | 7 |
| Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Jake Stroth is active in numerous programs at his | 9 |
| school; he is active with his school's football team, having | 10 |
| earned varsity letters for football during his junior and | 11 |
| senior years; he participates in the Interactive Gamers Club | 12 |
| and the Anime Club, having served as leader of the Anime Club | 13 |
| in his senior year; he also participated in the Stevenson | 14 |
| "World's Fair", a festival to celebrate cultural diversity, and | 15 |
| Co-Curricular Night, an evening to recruit incoming freshmen to | 16 |
| extracurricular activities on campus; and | 17 |
| WHEREAS, Jake Stroth was named a 2010 Illinois State | 18 |
| Scholar by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission; he also | 19 |
| won the IHSA Scholastic Achievement Award for "outstanding | 20 |
| academic achievement by an individual while participating in | 21 |
| IHSA Interscholastic Activities"; and

| WHEREAS, Jake Stroth has earned numerous merit badges for | 2 |
| his work in the Scouts, including the Eagle-required badges of | 3 |
| Camping, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the | 4 |
| Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Emergency | 5 |
| Prepareness, Environmental Science, First Aid, Swimming, | 6 |
| Personal Management, Personal Fitness, Family Life, and | 7 |
| Lifesaving; and | 8 |
| WHEREAS, Jake Stroth's volunteer activities centered on | 9 |
| Scouting, including his work with his troop's PADS activities, | 10 |
| which helps provide emergency shelter to homeless men; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Jake Stroth took a leadership role and coordinated | 12 |
| his troop's PADS program for the 2008-2009 school year; he | 13 |
| remains committed to community service and has volunteered on | 14 |
| many of his troop's Eagle projects; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Jake Stroth's Eagle Scout project took place in | 16 |
| the Village of Lincolnshire, where he helped restore a wetlands | 17 |
| in the Old Mill Addition of the Florsheim Nature Preserve; for | 18 |
| his project, he led volunteers in improving a section of trail | 19 |
| and building a boardwalk that was installed over seasonal | 20 |
| wetlands, allowing visitors and conservation workers to travel | 21 |
| through the area without disrupting the flow of water vital to | 22 |
| the ecosystem; and

| WHEREAS, Jake Stroth lives with his mother, Adriana | 2 |
| Rayneri, his father, Steve Stroth, and his younger brother, | 3 |
| Luke Stroth; he plans to attend college next year to explore | 4 |
| his dual interests in history and engineering; therefore, be it
| 5 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 6 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 7 |
| congratulate Jake Stroth for receiving the coveted title of | 8 |
| Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the | 9 |
| future; and be it further
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to Jake Stroth as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
