SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 490/125 new

    Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that the second Sunday in June each year is a holiday to be known as Children's Day (El Dia de los Ninos). Provides that Children's Day is to be observed throughout the State as a day to recognize and acknowledge the lives of all children.

1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5 adding Section 125 as follows:
 
6     (5 ILCS 490/125 new)
7     Sec. 125. Children's Day (El Dia de los Ninos). The second
8 Sunday in June each year is a holiday to be known as Children's
9 Day (El Dia de los Ninos). Children's Day is to be observed
10 throughout the State as a day to recognize and acknowledge the
11 lives of all children and to pledge our dedication to their
12 future and ours.
