1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1598
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1598 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Department of Human Services Act is amended
5 by adding Section 1-40 as follows:

6     (20 ILCS 1305/1-40 new)
7     Sec. 1-40. Assist units of local government; ADA
8 coordinators. Subject to appropriation by the General
9 Assembly, the Department shall provide assistance to units of
10 local government concerning Americans with Disabilities Act
11 coordinators. The Department shall monitor units of local
12 government to determine if the units of local government are in
13 compliance with all applicable provisions of State law
14 concerning Americans with Disabilities Act coordinators. The
15 Department shall promptly notify units of local government not
16 in compliance with the applicable provisions of State law

1 concerning Americans with Disabilities Act coordinators.

2     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
3 becoming law.".
