AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1335

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1335 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
5 10-20.46, 22-50, and 34-18.37 as follows:
 
6     (105 ILCS 5/10-20.46 new)
7     Sec. 10-20.46. Press boxes; accessibility. A school board
8 does not have to comply with the Illinois Accessibility Code
9 (71 Ill. Adm. Code 400) with respect to accessibility to press
10 boxes that are on school property if the press boxes were
11 constructed before the effective date of this amendatory Act of
12 the 96th General Assembly.
 
13     (105 ILCS 5/22-50 new)
14     Sec. 22-50. Illinois Accessibility Task Force.
15     (a) The Illinois Accessibility Task Force is created to

1 recommend any necessary revisions to the Illinois
2 Accessibility Code (71 Ill. Adm. Code 400) to comply with the
3 federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 with respect to
4 public school property.
5     (b) The task force shall consist of the following members:
6         (1) One member appointed by the President of the
7     Senate.
8         (2) One member appointed by the Minority Leader of the
9     Senate.
10         (3) One member appointed by the Speaker of the House of
11     Representatives.
12         (4) One member appointed by the Minority Leader of the
13     House of Representatives.
14         (5) The Executive Director of the Capital Development
15     Board or his or her designee.
16         (6) The Attorney General or his or her designee.
17         (7) A representative of a statewide association
18     representing school boards appointed by the Executive
19     Director of the Capital Development Board.
20         (8) A representative of a statewide association
21     representing regional superintendents of schools appointed
22     by the Executive Director of the Capital Development Board.
23         (9) A representative of a statewide coalition of
24     citizens with disabilities appointed by the Executive
25     Director of the Capital Development Board.
26     (c) The Capital Development Board shall provide

1 administrative and other support to the task force.
2     (d) The task force shall report its recommendations to the
3 Capital Development Board and the General Assembly, and upon
4 reporting its recommendations the task force is dissolved.
 
5     (105 ILCS 5/34-18.37 new)
6     Sec. 34-18.37. Press boxes; accessibility. The board does
7 not have to comply with the Illinois Accessibility Code (71
8 Ill. Adm. Code 400) with respect to accessibility to press
9 boxes that are on school property if the press boxes were
10 constructed before the effective date of this amendatory Act of
11 the 96th General Assembly.
 
12     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
13 2009.".
