SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 2310/2310-306 new

Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department, subject to appropriation, to develop, publish, and disseminate a brochure to educate the general public about telemedicine.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 2310-306 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2310/2310-306 new)

Sec. 2310-306. Telemedicine brochure. The Department of Public Health, subject to appropriation, shall develop, publish, and disseminate a brochure to educate the general public on the use and availability in Illinois of telemedicine and the advantages of telemedicine in providing access to medical care in rural areas and in medically underserved areas.
