AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 726

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 726 on page 2, by replacing lines 1 through 13 with the following:

"Midwest/Low Cost Index.

By March 1, 2010 and March 1 of each year thereafter, the Department of Children and Family Services shall report to the Governor and General Assembly the estimated cost and additional funding required to establish the rate for each child up to 100% of the Foster Care Minimum Adequate Rates for Children (MARC) for expenditures allowable under the federal Title IV-E Foster Care Maintenance Program of the Social Security Act related to the actual costs of providing food, clothing, shelter, daily supervision, school supplies, personal incidentals, insurance, and travel for visitation with a child's biological family, jointly recommended by the National Foster Parent Association, the University of Maryland School of Social Work, and the organization Children's Rights in a technical report entitled "Hitting the M.A.R.C.: Establishing Foster Care Minimum Adequate Rates for Children", dated October 2007.".
