1 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 6
2 (As Amended by Senate Amendment No. 1)

3     WHEREAS, During the 94th General Assembly, the Legislative
4 Task Force on Employment of Persons with Past Criminal
5 Convictions (hereinafter referred to as the Task Force) was
6 established pursuant to House Joint Resolution 107 for the
7 purpose of conducting public hearings and examining the
8 barriers faced by persons with past criminal convictions with
9 respect to obtaining employment and for the purpose of
10 evaluating those recommendations made by the Governor's
11 Statewide Community Safety and Reentry Working Group; and

12     WHEREAS, As of the required reporting date, the Task
13 Force's work is still ongoing and further investigation is
14 needed prior to the preparation and submission of its report;
15 therefore, be it

16     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
17 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
18 CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Legislative Task Force on
19 Employment of Persons with Past Criminal Convictions,
20 organized pursuant to House Joint Resolution 107 of the 94th
21 General Assembly, is hereby reconstituted; and be it further

22     RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall be comprised of those

1 persons appointed pursuant to House Joint Resolution 107 of the
2 94th General Assembly until such time as those appointing
3 authorities established in House Joint Resolution 107 appoint
4 different persons to the Task Force; and be it further

5     RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall have the authority,
6 duties, and purposes as set forth in House Joint Resolution 107
7 of the 94th General Assembly; and be it further

8     RESOLVED, That no later than December 31, 2008, the Task
9 Force shall submit a report to the Governor and General
10 Assembly of its findings and recommendations; and that the Task
11 Force shall be dissolved after the filing of this report; and
12 be it further

13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 delivered to the ex-officio members of the Task Force and the
15 Governor of the State of Illinois.
