2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 581, AS AMENDED, in
3 Section 5, Sec. 6-1, subsection (a), by replacing the sentence
4 beginning "Each participant" with the following:
5 "Each participant in the Community Residential Choices Program
6 shall have his or her own individual private bedroom."; and
7 in Section 5, Sec. 6-1, subsection (a), by replacing the
8 sentence beginning "The Community Residential Choices Program"
9 with the following:
10 "The Community Residential Choices Program shall be available
11 to persons over the age of 18 who do not meet the Department's
12 criteria for being in crisis."; and
13 in Section 5, Sec. 6-1, subsection (b), by inserting
14 immediately below the last line of that subsection the
15 following:
16     "A person diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder may be

1 assessed for eligibility for services under Home and
2 Community-Based Services Waivers for persons with
3 developmental disabilities, without regard to whether that
4 person is also diagnosed with mental retardation, so long as
5 the person otherwise meets applicable level-of-care criteria
6 under those waivers. This provision does not create any new
7 entitlement to a service, program, or benefit, but shall not
8 affect any entitlement to a service, program, or benefit
9 created by any other law."; and
10 in Section 5, Sec. 6-5, by inserting after "on July 1, 2007,"
11 the following:
12 "subject to appropriation,"; and
13 in Section 5, by replacing Sec. 6-10 with the following:
14     "(405 ILCS 80/6-10 new)
15     Sec. 6-10. Reimbursement rates. The Department shall
16 reimburse each provider of a Community Residential Choices
17 Program at the customary rate for a community-based residential
18 program for persons with developmental disabilities, including
19 necessary and appropriate support services.".
