| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ronald Buch, | 4 |
| Executive Director of Community Service, on the occasion of his | 5 |
| retirement after 32 years of dedicated service at Northwest | 6 |
| Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Ronald Buch began his career at Northwest | 8 |
| Community Hospital on October 6, 1975 as a hospital chaplain; | 9 |
| on October 27, 1975, he was challenged to establish a pastoral | 10 |
| care program and was named Director of Pastoral Care; due to | 11 |
| Mr. Buch's leadership, the department grew and prospered; in | 12 |
| 1984, Mr. Buch became Director of Pastoral Care and Social | 13 |
| Services when the two departments merged; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, In January of 1992, Ronald Buch, due to his | 15 |
| compassion, was appointed the Director of the new Cancer | 16 |
| Services Department; in 1993, he was appointed to the position | 17 |
| of Director of Community Services in order to utilize his | 18 |
| reflection and understanding of the hospital's mission in the | 19 |
| community; in 2007, he was named Executive Director of | 20 |
| Community Services; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, During his tenure as Director of Community | 22 |
| Services, Ronald Buch accomplished many beneficial additions |

| to Northwest Community Healthcare's outreach in the community; | 2 |
| from 1993 to 2000, he collaborated with the area's social | 3 |
| services organizations to support and expand health services | 4 |
| for the marginalized in the region; in 1999, he was | 5 |
| instrumental in the establishment of the Palatine Opportunity | 6 |
| Center; in 2000, he collaborated with the Cook County | 7 |
| Department of Public Health to open the Vista Health Clinic; in | 8 |
| 2003, he initiated the Mobile Dental Clinic; in 2007, the | 9 |
| Access Clinic was opened to provide health care for the | 10 |
| underprivileged in the area; in 2008, he partnered with the | 11 |
| Little City organization to provide increased health care | 12 |
| benefits for their developmentally disabled residents; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Ronald Buch's enthusiastic dedication to his | 14 |
| career and community make him a model for the people of the | 15 |
| State of Illinois; therefore, be it
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 17 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 18 |
| congratulate Ronald Buch on the occasion of his retirement and | 19 |
| wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it | 20 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 22 |
| presented to Ronald Buch as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
