| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the | 3 |
| cornerstones upon
which our society is built, and a marriage | 4 |
| that has achieved a notable
longevity is truly a model for the | 5 |
| people of the State of Illinois; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Harold and Velma Grotefendt of Marine were married | 7 |
| on October 16, 1947 at the Marine United Church of Christ; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Harold and Velma Grotefendt are the proud parents | 9 |
| of Rande (wife, Judy) Brad, and Dale (wife, Kay) Grotefendt; | 10 |
| and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, They are the proud grandparents of Jill (husband, | 12 |
| Philip) Maud, Kathy (husband, Robert) Prince, Cindy | 13 |
| Grotefendt, Ty Grotefendt, and Michelle Grotefendt; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, They are the blessed great-grandparents of Peter | 15 |
| John Maud; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its | 17 |
| highest plateaus
when a couple such as Harold and Velma | 18 |
| celebrate a milestone
wedding anniversary; and | 19 |
| WHEREAS, Harold and Velma stand as examples of the best of |

| our
society, and their love and devotion to each other and to | 2 |
| their family and
friends serve as a reminder to all that hard | 3 |
| work, dedication, and love can
make a difference in today's | 4 |
| world; therefore, be it
| 5 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 6 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 7 |
| congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Harold Grotefendt on the occasion of | 8 |
| their sixtieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for | 9 |
| achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children and | 10 |
| grandchildren, and rich in friendships; and that we wish them | 11 |
| happiness and good health in the future; and be it further
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 |
| presented to Harold and Velma Grotefendt as a symbol of our | 14 |
| respect and esteem.
