| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives wish to congratulate the DeKalb High School | 4 |
| boys a cappella group on winning first place at the Illinois | 5 |
| State Championship on February 17, 2007; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The competition was sponsored by the National | 7 |
| Championship of High School A Cappella and hosted by DeKalb | 8 |
| High School; schools from Missouri, Wisconsin, and the State of | 9 |
| Illinois all competed in the event; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The DeKalb boys now advance to the National | 11 |
| Championships at Disney World in Orlando, Florida in May; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the group are seniors, Dan Larmon, | 13 |
| Wes Nelsen, and Derick Peterson; the juniors are Ben Balika, | 14 |
| Ian Cook, Zach Effler, and Jeff Miguel; the sophomores are Drew | 15 |
| Taylor and Adam Welch; eighth grader Brett Balika and seventh | 16 |
| grader Harrison Hintzsche complete the group; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The boys performed three pieces, "It's Alright" by | 18 |
| Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions, "Yellow" by Coldplay, and | 19 |
| "Brown-Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison; and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Solos were performed by Dan Larmon, Wes Nelsen, |

| and Drew Taylor; vocal percussion was performed by Drew Taylor | 2 |
| and Harrison Hintzsche; and Drew Taylor received the award for | 3 |
| outstanding vocal percussion in the competition; therefore, be | 4 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 6 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 7 |
| congratulate the DeKalb High School boys a cappella group on | 8 |
| winning first place at the Illinois State Championship on | 9 |
| February 17, 2007; and be it further
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to the DeKalb High School boys a cappella group as a | 12 |
| symbol of our respect and esteem.
