1 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
3 (MRSA) continues to be a cause of concern for the citizens of
4 this State; and

5     WHEREAS, It is imperative to protect the health and safety
6 of the public by educating the citizens of this State about the
7 dangers of MRSA; therefore, be it

8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
10 SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there is created the Joint Task
11 Force on MRSA Education, which shall be charged with the task
12 of spearheading the effort to educate parents, students,
13 teachers, and school administrators about the dangers of MRSA
14 and ways to prevent the spread of MRSA; and be it further

15     RESOLVED, That the Joint Task Force shall consist of 8
16 members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Director of
17 Public Health; and be it further

18     RESOLVED, That the Director shall choose one member
19 representing each of the following groups: nurses, specialists
20 in the field of infection control and epidemiology, education
21 organizations, school principals, the Illinois Department of

1 Public Health, hospitals, doctors, and public health
2 associations; and be it further

3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 delivered to the Director of Public Health.
