| AN ACT concerning health.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Phenylketonuria Testing Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 1 as follows:
|
| 6 |

| Sec. 1. The
The Illinois Department of Public Health shall |
| 8 |
| promulgate and
enforce rules and regulations requiring that |
| 9 |
| every newborn be subjected
to tests for phenylketonuria, |
| 10 |
| hypothyroidism, galactosemia and such
other metabolic diseases |
| 11 |
| as the
Department may deem necessary from time to time. The |
| 12 |
| Department is
empowered to promulgate such additional rules and |
| 13 |
| regulations as are
found necessary for the administration of |
| 14 |
| this Act, including mandatory
reporting of the results of all |
| 15 |
| tests for these conditions to the
Illinois Department of Public |
| 16 |
| Health. |
